A trip upstairs to visit Tom Broughton for FT
I was recently asked by the FT to visit Tom Broughton the founder of Cubitts in his seaside flat to make his portrait, it happened to be just upstairs from my own studio, so short trip. I often find myself travelling for shoots so this was very irregular. Being a flat, high up, and sea facing flat you can imagine I was blessed with lovely light and the warm wood-panelled interior only added to that!
Really enjoyed this one as I've always loved Marine Court, it's a building that seems to have stayed still within its own time, the elevators and doors in the corridors between flats hold an aged beauty seen nowhere else, their ornate features have remained untouched for many of years.
