There are many trials and tribulations to running a small community organisation. One that crops up again and again is grant writing, funding bids, and not getting them. We've applied for countless bids over the 5+ years we've been an organisation and, like many, have "failed" more than we have succeeded in securing a successful bid. And, like many still find a way to work through this, put on events and support our local community. This is just the state of the current arts climate we're in, and we will always find ways to make things work! The success in this is in part down to the support of the community itself through volunteering and turning up to events to be a part of something special, as well as the amazing network that surrounds us willing to put in time and share their knowledge and expertise. Over the past 5 years we've put on photography festivals, book & print fairs, outdoor exhibitions, monthly peer review sessions, workshops with a great number of artists, and many talks. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for being a part of Picnic's journey and we look forward to welcoming you to something special just over the horizon!

Keep an eye on the Picnic Instagram over the coming weeks for the latest on events and more!
