Without running water or power Julio, the Potato King of Peru, cultivates new varieties of potato using methods 4000 years old. Late last year I went on a trip to the Andes for Patek Philippe magazine one of the most remote places I photographed. Julio speaks Quechua a language inherited from the ancient Incas, and a little Spanish, but we managed with the help of his son to learn about the passion and artistry of this small plantation.
